Well, there is no doubt that white shoes are indeed stylish, however they are also very prone to dirt and this is an issue we will be tackling here on this page. We will be looking at how to clean white Vans shoes.
How to clean white Vans shoes
It is not a Herculean task to make a dirty white Vans shoe look clean, fresh and very white just as a newly bought pair. Just follow the guidelines below in order to get rid of dirt on white Vans shoes.
Step 1: gather cleaning materials
The first step you should take if you want to clean white Vans shoes is to gather household cleaning items. Below are some of the items that you will need to gather:
- Laundry detergent
- Washing bowl (2)
- Warm water
- Old toothbrush
- Soft bristle scrubbing brush
- Clean rag
Step 2: Prepare cleaning solution
Now, with the items you have gathered (in step 1) you should be able to prepare a cleaning solution which will help you in getting rid of dirt on white Vans shoes. You can prepare a cleaning solution by mixing 1/4 cup of Laundry Detergent with 2 cups of warm water in a washing bowl. Stir your mixture until it becomes foamy. If you are going to be washing your shoelaces, then you will have to prepare a separate cleaning solution in another bowl in order to soak your shoelaces in it.
You can also use the Vans cleaning solution in place of preparing a cleaning solution.
Step 3: Prepare your shoes
This is the first thing that you will have to do before you can start the cleaning process. You should prepare your shoes, and what I mean by preparing your shoes is that you unthread the shoelaces, remove the insoles (if it is removable one) and then clean off (with dry toothbrush) dust and dried mud.
Step 4: Scrub the upper of your shoe
This step is when you actually begin the cleaning process. This process involves dipping a clean rag into the cleaning solution (in step 2) and then in a circular motion you should gently scrub the upper areas of your shoe. You should have another bowl full of clean warm water by your side in order to regularly rinse the rag in it before repeating the scrubbing process. Repeat this step until you are satisfied with the cleanness level of the shoe.
Step 5: Scrub the white edges/sole of your shoe
After thoroughly scrubbing the upper parts of your shoe, the next and very important step is to scrub the edges or the sole area of your shoe. Scrubbing this area of the shoe requires a lot more rigorousness than the upper part. In order to get it clean, you will have to use a scrubbing brush or you can use an old toothbrush and then dip it into the scrubbing solution, then you gently scrub in a back and forth manner the edged of your shoe.
Step 6: Rinse your shoe
When you are done with the scrubbing of your shoe, then you will now have to rinse off the soap residue on your shoe. The rinsing process involves rinsing out the rag in clean water and then you wipe off the soap residue on it. Repeat this process until all soap residues has been wiped off.
Step 7: Dry your shoes
The final step is when you can now dry your shoes, thus, after you have gotten rid of all soap residues on your shoes. Dry your shoes in properly ventilated area, however, avoid drying them (shoes) under direct sunlight. As for your shoelaces, you can dry them on a drying line. You can also
