We will not be looking at the features and benefits of these amazing running shoes; however, we will be looking at how to wash New Balance Running shoes, when they eventually get dirty. Read ahead and follow the comprehensive washing guidelines provided here in this post.
Items needed to wash New Balance Running shoes
You will need to gather the following items:
- Warm water
- Washing bowls (2)
- Soft bristle scrubbing brush
- Clean rag
- Shoe deodorizer spray
- Laundry detergent
Prepare your shoes for cleaning
If you have successfully gathered the above items, then you should now prepare your shoes so that they are ready to be washed. This is a very simple task. Unthread the shoelaces of your shoes and remove the shoe insoles.
Brush off excess dirt such as dried mud. You should use a soft bristle scrubbing brush and a toothbrush to help you remove excess or dried mud on the upper and sole areas of your shoe. However, you should make sure that your shoes are dried before brushing off any excess dirt.
Prepare a cleaning solution
The next thing you need to do is to prepare a cleaning solution. With the above items that you have gathered, mix about 2 tablespoons of laundry detergent with about 2 cups of warm water in a washing bowl. Stir your mixture until it is foamy. You can prepare another cleaning solution in a different bowl and soak your shoelaces in them, whiles you wash your shoes.
Scrub your shoes
After you are done with the cleaning solution and your shoes are ready to be cleaned. Then, dip a clean rag into the cleaning solution and then in a circular motion wipe the upper parts of your New Balance Running shoes. For stubborn stains, you can use a soft bristle brush to scrub, also in a circular motion the areas that have stains on them. When scrubbing, avoid exerting pressure on the upper areas of your shoe, as this can damage the material.
For the sole area of your shoe, you should use a scrubbing brush to scrub in a back and forth manner the mid-sole and out-sole area. For the area between the upper and the mid-sole, you should use toothbrush which has relatively smaller bristles that can easily remove dirt in such areas.
Rinse your shoes
If your are satisfied with the cleanness of your shoes, then it is now time to rinse them. When rinsing your shoes, you should use a clean rag dipped into clean warm water and then wipe off the soap residue on the upper and sole areas of the shoe.
Dry your shoes
After rising, you should dry your shoes. As I have always advised, dry your shoes in a well ventilated area. Avoid drying them under direct sunlight, as they can get ruined.
Whiles your shoes dry, you can now wash out the shoelaces, rinse them and dry on a drying line. For the insoles of your shoes, if they are dirty, you can clean them by dipping clean rag into the cleaning solution and in a back and forth manner wipe off any dirt on them. Rinse them out and then dry on a drying line.
When your shoes, shoelaces and shoe insoles are all properly dried, insert back the shoe insoles and thread back the shoelaces. Your shoe should now be looking as good as new. Apply a shoe deodorizer spray to add more freshness to your New Balance Running shoes. You are good to go, enjoy running in a clean and fresh New Balance Running shoes.
